What you don’t need

When you’re getting ready to travel, you always are thinking of what you need to pack. I’m here to tell you what you DON’T need when you come to Alpinhaus Vail.

Towels - we provide 4 towels, 4 wash cloths, 2 hand towels, and dish towels for every stay. (If you think you will need more, tell us before your stay and we can add some!)

Linens - unlike some areas where short term rentals require you to bring your own (yes, weird, I know but try going to the Outer Banks!) we absolutely provide you fresh bed linens for every stay. The bed will always have sheets, a quilt, and a spare blanket. We also leave a spare set of sheets for the bed and a spare set for the pull out sofa. If you have 4 guests, we’ll also make up the sofa bed and have it ready for you.

Soap - we never want you to find yourself without hand soap - yuck! Each sink will always have a gentle, moisturizing hand soap to fight germs and dryness in our high altitude air.

Toiletries - we do leave you a starter set of travel size shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and moisturizer. Some people have left behind larger toiletries and since we don’t like the idea of throwing out something perfectly fine, we keep it there for you to use if you choose to as well.

Cleaning supplies - you’ll find glass cleaner, all purpose cleaner, disinfectant, glass cook top cleaner, bar keepers friend, and dishwasher pods under the kitchen sink. Messes happen and no one likes to be caught without something to clean up!

Paper goods - we will always leave at least a roll or two of paper towels as well as adequate toilet paper for the length of your stay. Generally I calculate one roll per 2 days, plus an extra—just in case! Phew!

Spices - specialty meals nonwithstanding, we have a large supply of spices to choose from—not just salt, pepper, and a mystery spice in a dusty old container. We’re at 20 spices and growing!

Kitchen supplies - We like to think we stock our kitchen with a ton of goodies like full size pots and pans, baking sheets, pizza stones, casserole dishes, blenders, crock pot, silverware for 6, a variety of beverage glasses, plate and bowl services for 6, and more. We hope to provide you with above and beyond what the average short term rental provides.

Coffee & Tea - we leave a variety of Keurig pods for some instant coffee gratification, regular coffee for the regular coffee maker, and a variety of teas (both for the keurig and for the electric kettle we also supply). We do leave a supply of shelf stable creamers and sugar.

Other pantry items
- we do have some flour, sugar, salt, oil, cooking spray, etc. As well as baggies, foil, cling wrap, and tupperware to store your leftovers while you’re here.

Cozy blankets - we do have some cozy blankets around the condo and YES we DO wash them for every guest. No icky reused vibes allowed!

Firewood - while we don’t do an endless supply of firewood, we will leave you in winter with at least a starter bundle to get you going. If you’d like to do more, just grab some as close by as Sim’s Market just a mile away. We also leave fire starters and matches/lighters.

Laundry - while we don’t supply the quarters, we do have a stash of hypoallergenic laundry detergent, dryer sheets, stain stick, wrinkle releaser, iron, ironing board, and hamper for you to utilize while you’re with us. There is a coin operated laundry in our building (building 11). Just walk around to the back corner by the bridge and creek and you’ll find it. If it happens to be full, there are several other buildings with laundry rooms as well. Just check our House Book for the building numbers—or go for a little walkabout along the sidewalk by the creek and you’ll see them!

There so much stuff, I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting something but we can’t wait for you to visit us and find out how much you DON’T need to bring! Remember, if you ever have questions about an amenity, just ask!
